CE Mark Certification

Existing in its present form since 1985, the CE marking indicates that the manufacturer or importer claims compliance with the relevant EU legislation applicable to a product, regardless of the place of manufacture. By affixing the CE marking on a product, a manufacturer effectively declares, at its sole responsibility, conformity with all of the legal requirements to achieve CE marking which allows free movement and sale of the product throughout the European Economic Area.

Benefits of CE Mark

  • Sell Products in the EEA: Most product categories are subject to different directives and regulations laid out by the EEA. The products must carry a CE marking to be sold in the European Economic Area. The countries in the EEA include: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the UK. The companies that design and manufacture the products in EEA or import products to be sold in EEA must get the CE marking conformity assessment.

  • Increased Credibility: The CE marking is a guarantee that the products meet the latest health, safety and environmental protection standards set by EEA authorities. This makes them trust companies that have CE markings on their products even if they have never bought products from the company in the past.

  • No Restrictions within the EEA: Products that bear the CE marking can be bought and sold in the EEA without any restriction. This makes it easy for companies outside the EEA to sell their products in the 30 countries of the EEA region once they meet the CE marking regulations. They can easily enter new markets within the EEA area without the need for multiple certifications for different countries.

Achieving compliance and getting CE marking conformity assessment can be a complex procedure and it is recommended to get in touch with a notified body for the CE marking process from design verification to the EU declaration of conformity.
